I'm seeing and hearing that 2010 pietta 1858 models are nice, (CF date code).

I recently handled a basic blue 8" model at Cabelas that nearly appeared perfect. I got the target model instead because it was very nearly as good as the standard, nice, tight lock up.

I wish I could buy that standard model as well. It's still sitting behind the counter at the Gonzales, Louisiana Cabelas. It locked up TIGHT in all hammer modes and full battery.

The bluing was literally "pooling" where the flats met the receiver, perfect barrel flats where they met the receiver.

I can not find anything to grouse about my 2010, CF 1858 Pietta.
A beautiful and functional piece.
