I couldn't resist as I was at the reloading store. I bought some of the Federal Match Large Rifle Primers (freakin $28, any cheaper places?) along with some more CCI large rifle primers. Tell me, am I going to see some good results? I will eventually do some testing where only the primer is a variable, but some of your experiences will help me feel better about wasting my money at this time. Thanks.

I'd like to hear about your results when you do your testing.

My ol Win M70 wouldn't shoot for solids unless I used match primers. I never thought primers would make such a big difference and I use them exclusively now.
So in short you "done good". And Federals are among the best IMHO.

In my experience,it takes a quality, probably a custom gun to tell the difference. One thing that I found with some of my factory rifles was they either liked them or they hated them. With my custom guns I could shave about 1/8-1/16 inch off of my groups. But my guns shoot 3/8 moa with either so I choose the cheaper ones.

You can find my test of Federal Match Primers vs. CCI Primers at http://www.thefiringline.com/NonCGI/...ML/001224.html .

I found that in my stock Remington 700 VS that it did make a difference.
