Shotgun pricing question...
A friend of mine lives in Southern Illinois, and wants to sell his Ithaca Model 37 and get something a little bit heavier for slug use for deer hunting.
It's in very good shape, hasn't been used all that much, is about 25 years old, and IIRC it has a polychoke on the barrel. Anyone know what used Ithacas are bringing in that area?

Depending on condition, Mike, $200 to 350. Polychokes often lower the price around here. Too bad, it's an acceptable mod.

My estimate (from west-central IL) would be more like $150-175 w/ polychoke.
I have 3 mod 37s. Sadly, the Ithicas seem to be under-appreciated by many folks. |

Yes, the Ithacas are under appreciated, but probably because they kick so damned hard with anything other than light skeet loads. My father has a 37 from the 1950s. I hunted an afternoon of dove with it one year, and just about battered myself to death. Still like it, though.
