Thorold's deer Facts & Photos
These amazing deer originate from Tibet. Also known as the white lipped deer. Currently classified as vulernable with estimated population of 100,000. Their antlers commonly reach 4 feet in length. These deer remind me of Asian sika deer. Adult males weigh in at 275-300 lbs. As with many animals (and human females), their hair color changes tone with the seasons. Trophy hunting for Thorold's deer is unknown to me. But an outfitter that books hunts for Marco Polo sheep might be helpful. Jack |
