Current Production Taurus 94 ????????????
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with current production Taurus 94 in 22LR w/4 or 5" barrel...I have heard of problems with "failure to fire" in the past....is this still the case??? Any Info/Opinions/Experiences would be appreciated.

I don't know about current production but 3 or 4 years ago a friend bought one and I did as well. My trigger was real rough. On some pulls it would just lock up right in the middle. After sending it back to the factory it was better, but still a little rough -- some pulls were noticeably harder than others -- something somewhere was out of whack. My friend's was similarly bad. Maybe they have gotten better. Hope so.
On the plus side I have an old style Taurus 94 made in 1990. It does not have the shroud around the ejector rod and has nice rosewood grips. It looks like a small S&W Model 97. Great action. |

I looked at one the other day. DA trigger was 17 pounds. YIKES!
Even the SA trigger was a healthy 7 pounds. Good grief! |

Sweetest 22 I own
I have a 94 that had a real hard trigger pull that I modified with a different trigger and hammer spring. It now is better than any other revolver I own and I have a few. I just played around with a bunch of springs I had laying around till I came up with the right combination.

I had one in .22mag that would fail to fire at least a couple of rounds in every cylinder full. I sent it back and when it came back it would lock-up tight as a drum and nothing would move. I guess the thing is that each one is different. Some get lucky and have no problems while some of us get guns with serious flaws. It is not worth the risk to me.

I picked up a new Taurus 94 5" matte stainless today and ran a few hundred rounds through it today. It ran well. Toward the end, the chambers were getting dirty enough to make me have to slightly force the Aquila Super Maximum rounds in the chambers. The gun performed well, although it does have an extremely heavy trigger.
