wife's new 327 magnum

We finally went to our range today so my wife could get a good feel about firing her nib 327. We had a box of 32 S&WL, a box of 32 HR and a box of Hyra-shok.
The 32 S&WL had almost no perceived recoil & her groups were at 3" at 15 feet.
Next the HR32 in magnum had a real snap to it & the grouping was similar but she was in complete control. Her hands were a little sore but very manageable. I stopped her from using the Hyra-shok. Those rounds I shot & my hands stung pretty hard. Note: a box of 50 S&W 32L is under $13.00 & a box of 50 HR32 is anywhere from $27 to $32.

She handed me her Ruger lcr 22LR & said please use this towards getting your own 327(at 17 ounces) which I most certainly will. I still have my EAA windicator 2" 357( at 28.8 ounces) in magnum that eats up any 357 in magnum ammo plus my S&W 686 + 3".(36.8 ounces) which is a tad heavy carrying it concealed in Florida.

Maybe I missed it ... But 'what' .327 magnum revolver were you and your wife shooting?? That said, sounds like you had a good time at the range. I just shoot .32 H&R Magnum cartridges (reloads) in my .327 Single Seven.

I shot half a box of 100 gr .327’s in my wife’s lcr. It stung like a motherbear.

The 85 Grain HydraShok 327 Federal matches up well with the SP101 3", which holds 6 rounds. That is probably the gun, along with S&Ws similar gun, for which the ammo was intended during development. It is 327 lite, while the Federal American Eagle 100 grain is the real deal.

You might look at an SP101 for yourself rather than another LCR that you know is unpleasant to shoot with the 327s.

The 327 fed magnum is the LCR model. My GS did a great trigger job & got it down from 12 lbs. pull to 8.5 lbs. I'm no expert but I think that this is one of the smoothest shooting snubs I've ever fired. I ordered mine today & asked my GS to do the same trigger job when it arrives then let me know when I can pick it up.
Here's the real kicker. My wife asked can we go back to our range tomorrow to shoot some more? This is a real first for me in all the 32 years we've been together.
