Interstate transportation of a shotgun?
Hi,
The first gun I ever owned was a single shot, break apart 12 Ga. shotgun my Dad purchased for me when I was 13 or 14. The last time I went to visit him, I was digging through the garage and came across it. I would like to take it home with me, or have him bring it when he comes to visit, but he lives in Colorado and I live in Kali. What would I have to do to legally bring it in the state? Hopefully whatever it is won't cost too much, because the darn thing aint worth that much...otherwise I guess I'll have to leave it with him for the time being. |

Lock it in your gun case, Put it in the trunk of your car and drive it home. Most states allow you to travel with a shotgun or rifle as long as it is secured. I drive all over the northeast with my shotguns and never have a problem. People travel to major shoots all the time with their guns, even take them on airlines so you shouldn't have a problem with it.
