Weatherby moves to Wyoming
Evidently today at the Shot Show in Vegas, the announcement was made that Weatherby Inc. is moving to Sheridan, Wyoming. Quite the news, indeed. 70-90 new jobs, and 5 million annually in payroll in the next 5 years. Good news for Wyoming.

With the high taxes and heavy regulations, can you blame Weatherby? Decades ago Calico moved out of Bakersfield to somewhere near Sparks, NV. Perhaps Fernly?

Quote: Weatherby, Inc. still makes first class rifles for first class hunting trips. Only their California welcome has outlived the politics in a state that is not only broke, but one that wants to secede from the Union. Its sanctuary environment has ruined the business climate for a lot of companies. Weatherby joins many others in a move elsewhere. They are going to Wyoming. Since when did Weatherby actually MAKE a gun? They were always made for them, by several high-end makers ........
but still glad they made the move.........

Several gun and gun accessory makers have moved out of blue and into red states the last few years. I seriously doubt CA will retain its big economy much longer....high taxes and heavy regulations force businesses out.

Adam Weatherby, president of Weatherby Inc., explains the decision to move to Sheridan, Wyoming. All the best to Weatherby Inc. on their decision to move to Wyoming. Here's hoping their move, their shop set-up and the transitional challenges are met smoothly, and on time with their planned schedule with production. "Welcome to Wyoming," Weatherby Inc., and yup, "Forever West."
