Best price locally for NIB, is $580 plus taxes so it sounds good
to me if like new. That said, don't expect the recoil to be like shooting
a full sized .45 polymer, as it's just a tad more bite to the hands IMO.
Nice gun, great fiber optic front sight!

Video on youtube for XDS

There's a video on Youtube by some Military person who goes through all kinds of ammo for the camera with the XDS 45acp. I am bidding on one now at gunbroker.com. It was shooting wadcutters with no failures !!! That impressed me enough. They shot HP's, and you name it. No failures the entire time. They did something new in the design of the feed ramp. Doesn't hold much ammo, but if you can shoot well who needs alot ?

Local gun shop has them for $519.

I really like mine. Recoil isn't bad shooting standard .45acp 230 gr. roundnose.

Haven't tried 185 gr., but a friend likes them for edc.

I was just looking at the them at LGS and it might just be a got-to-have. I was impressed with the feel and size...if it just shoots as well as it feels.

I have had mine for a few months now and I love it..i carry mine every day...I've put about 150-200 rounds through it ...I seen a video on utube about the head on the recoil spring getting pretty chewed up after a couple hundred rounds...so I took mine apart to clean it the other day and it is started to get chewed up a bit...the in the utube video said his is soo chewed up that the slide doesn't come back all the way when he shoot a round...

Rented one from a local range in MN, and I was unimpressed. The XDS we rented had a flush fit 5 round mag. Personally...there was nothing wrong with the pistol itself, it was mostly the idea of carrying a 5 round semi-auto. Also, it certainly does recoil quite a bit more as one would expect given the size. My hand stung after shooting it. I had been shooting my two other pistols that day for reference(a M&P 9c and Sig SP2022 .40).

In terms of the pistol, I will say it is mighty impressive Springfield (well HS) was able to make such a small pistol with such a large round. Personally, however, were I to carry a small pistol, I would take the lower recoil 9mm Shield over the XDS. That is just my preference, however.

The XD(s) isn't HS. The early regular XD lines were until Springfield took the design and had the manufacturer in Croatia make some minor changes on them.

ETA: After updated researching, I was wrong. HS makes the XD(s). But it isn't the same as the HS2000 which that model number refers to the regular XD.

I picked one up in late October. About 100 rounds. Not exactly a long term range gun but 50 rounds per trip won't bother you. Unnoticeable when carrying. The supplied holster will work. Also other holsters for glock 26 works. I currently carry in a tagua iwb clip slide holster. No issues from mine. Got the bi tone new for 579. It is stiff hand racking at first. And suggested to use the slide release to load.

XD-S

Hey it is a .45 short barrel, so you should expect some recoil. It is a lightweight carry, excellent ccw,got mine brand new for 529.00 and a 7 round extended mag for 39.99. I'm happy with mine and I am a good shot too. Merry Christmas everyone!

I had an XDs under the Christmas tree this year. I took it to the range the yesterday and I was very impressed with this little gun. I'm more accurate with this than with my M&P Shield 9mm.
I have it on me now at work in a Remora holster and it's very comfortable and very easily concealled. I will get a couple of 7 round mags in the future and hope it doesn't effect concealment too much. My only complaint is the texture of the grip. Though I'm sure an innertube or slip on grips will resolved this.

I'm looking to pick up an XDs if I can find one local for a decent price. Local shop has a Bi-Tone for 649 which is a little steep for sure. I could buy online for a lot less but looking to trade in some hardware that just occupies space on the safe shelf and hasn't seen the light of day for years lol

Do you know where your XDs was purchased? I'm in the Nashua area as well.

Just as a side note, your post count is 603 at the time of me writing this...that is sort of funny

NH humor lol

I bought it a Shooters Outpost in Hooksett. It was a gift from the wife, but I made the actual purchase. I believe I paid $495.

XDS

I have had mine for several months and carry it daily. It replaced my Colt Defender as an EDC and I absolutely love it. Would be cautious about buying used as some of the first ones had lots of issues and you may be buying someone else's problem. Here is a video review I did: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K88LQKyz7B4

I first stopped at Shooters Outpost and they were cleaned out. One of the sales guys mentioned they had 8 of them this week and they flew out the door

I ended up taking a ride 5 minutes down the road to Riley's. They had one left on the bottom shelf so I lucked out

I never have really spent too much time there but it is a pretty good shop. They had more ammo than Shooters ( I picked up 100 rounds of American Eagle for 37 bucks and also some Tetra grease) and the buying process was smooth, quick and pleasant

I'll be a repeat customer
