Winchester Model 90-22 LONG RIFLE

I inherited a Winchester Model 90 long rifle and am trying to figure out the date of manufacture. The serial number starts with 823,xxx and none of the sites I've seen so far give any dates for guns with serial numbers starting with 8xx,xxx.

Could it be a Model 1890? If so, it was made in 1929.

I'm going to use the words "clip" and "Long Colt" every chance I get. It grinds my gears to see new members attacked when we all know dang good and well what's being refered to.

Thank you. It is likely an 1890 but on the barrel it's stamped, "WINCHESTER MODEL 90-22 LONG RIFLE."

After the early 1920s, Winchester started numbering their rifles according to the order in which the design was approved for production rather than the year it entered production. In order to keep their older rifles from seeming like old designs, they shortened the year model number to just the last two numbers. So 1894 became the 94, 1892 became the 92, 1890 became the 90.
Never try to educate someone who resists knowledge at all costs.
But what do I know?
