Found a Rogak P-18 in the wild today!

Found a Rogak P-18 in a local pawn shop today. For those unfamiliar with it, Forgotten Weapons did a special on it. It's basically an unlicensed Steyr GB copy.

They were asking 450 for it. Came with 2 mags. I thought about adding it to my "Odds and Ends" collection, but passed.

I’d pass too, that’s about $449.00 too much.

The Steyr made ones were OK. The Rogak made pistols are crap, paper weights.

If you decide to buy it, request to test fire it first. I suspect you will change your mind.

I remember the SoF evaluation of that pistol. Final photo showed the author ready to toss it downrange.

Yes, I'm olde.

I'm into collecting odd stuff. I have a HK VP70Z, a first generation Sigma, a 1999 production HS2000, etc.... Heck, I just hunted down a Streamlight M4 for the SWVE Sigma series.

But a Rogak isn't what I'd buy.

I own a Steyr GB and have always wanted a Rogak, but only if I could find out dirt-cheap. The only reason I want the Rogak is to be able to take it apart and see for myself what exactly they got wrong in the manufacturing process, and what it would take to get it to shoot reliably. Also, it has an interesting bit of history.

So, I'm not against someone buying a Rogak, but it's got to be for the right reason.

I remember the ads in the magazines back then: "Baker's dozen and a half"

Saw one in the Mountain of Geese gun room in a nearby suburb a few years ago. I can say I saw one; but would never buy it.

Like the others say here, save your dinero for a GB.

Fun to look, though.

I remember watching that Forgotten Weapons video...

It's basically an American Made Stainless Steel Styr GB, except that the fit and finish was so abysmal that many examples were completely disfunctional or otherwise unsafe to shoot.

That being said, I would buy one for the right place, as they're kind of collectible, or at least a cool conversation piece.

I saw the first ones. I believe that they had pieces of screen in the slide to provide some delay in operation.
Cheapest crap I had seen

Almost comical.
