World Record for Most Consecutive Bullseyes (1,530)
Looks like a Canadian soldier named Leonard Proteau set the record with a Dominion Marksman, model 190s, 22 rifle in 1967. an impressive feat for sure. it took him six months of range visits. He was just having fun, but the range kept score and eventually notified top brass.
An amazing feat to be sure. I have but one question, does anyone know what bullseye target would have been used in Canada during 1967? Looks like the record still holds in the Guinness book. Here's the full story. https://www.rainyriverrecord.com/node/630

I admire George Farr. He only had 70 consecutive bullseyes but he did it in one afternoon with a 1903 Springfield. The most famous second place; the winner hit 75 but with a scope sighted USMC match rifle.
There was a trapshooter who was known to shoot 50 straight the first event of the year and bet suckers that he would have the best average. Sure he would, he did not shoot any more registered targets that year. |

What is the diameter of the 5 point bullseye? 36 inches.
A 20 inch V ring was added a few years later to break ties. Highpower rifle target history............. https://www.ssusa.org/articles/2015/...-and-evolution Last edited by Bart B.; October 29, 2021 at 09:44 PM. |
