Hello, I'm new
My name is Brian, I currently live in Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit, Mexico.I started in the world of guns, hunting and shooting at the 10 years old.I like guns and black powder weapons.I'm a member of IDPA and I really like the shooting competitions.I love to hunt with black powder weapons.I am a very good shooter and hunter. The only bad thing is the control of weapons in Mexico.
In Mexico the calibers allowed are: In pistols to the 5.7x28 and .357 sig In revolvers to .38 special in shotguns to 12 gauge in rifles to .338 lapua magnum The automatic weapons are illegal. As you may have noticed my English is very bad. I remain at your service. Last edited by Brian the gunner; September 25, 2013 at 07:02 PM. |

You are fine using either. What the first poster meant was that as long as your English is understandable, it will work fine, not that you had to say 'gun' instead of 'weapon'. And your English certainly is understandable.

Agreed, and welcome to the forum. You'll find a lot of great people here as well a great deal of experience and good advice. Don't worry about your English - I was born here and mine's not that great

Welcome to The Firing Line Brian!
I hate to hear about your limited gun choices. But remember this, there are many countries that ban them or have stricter laws. I am glad you have the ability to at least enjoy some of them.

Welcome aboard. By the way I think your English is fine I understood everything you wrote.
I could be wrong but I was under the impression that in Mexico you could also own guns chambered in .22, .25, .32, and .380. From what I understand only military calibers are restricted. I know .38 super also used to be an approved round in Mexico, maybe that changed. Last edited by Dragline45; September 26, 2013 at 11:04 AM. |

Smaller calibers than what he listed would be permitted, but nothing more powerful. Brian, When SIGSHR said that "We speak gun.", he means to say that we speak the language of guns--él quiere decir nosotros hablamos el idioma de las armas de fuego. Welcome to TheFiringLine.

Trust me brother, your English is better than mine on most days.... I am almost illegible(auto correct) most days. It is good to have you and I hope you enjoy the forum.

So... is that correct?... 9mm, .40, .45, and 10mm autos are not legal to own in Mexico but .357sig IS allowed? If so, that's kinda nutty and arbitrary to the point of being humorous.

Something i not mentioned was legally allowed to 9mm Makarov (not to the .380), but in some states register the .357 sig and 5.7 x28
It's funny right? Only if you Official (or a higher rank) of the army, navy or air force or having the collector's permission, can have caliber weapons and automatics weapons. Sorry for my English. Last edited by Brian the gunner; September 27, 2013 at 10:39 AM. |

By the way I forgot to comment that gun laws in Mexico are stupid and make you laugh because in some parts prohibit weapons models and in an article says the 9mm Parabellum
and 9mm luger are prohibited (when they are the same caliber). If you have more questions I invite you to visit the forum http://www.mexicoarmado.com/content/ (of which I am a member) or you I can ask me. If it's against the forum rules to put the link from another forum please remove that part of the message or let me know. Again sorry for my English. |

¡Dimelo hermano! Bienvenidos. Tu no hables inglés mal.

I miss Mexico. I lived there for a few years back in the 80's. I still dream in Spanish occasionally... Isn't firearms talk the international language?
