I reload because I can make little holes in paper far away with my (cheaper) loads.
BUT... I'll admit it...I HAVE CONTROL ISSUES!!! If I bust my butt on the case prep and the round doesn't perform, it's not the round's fault, so I have to look at something else.

I know it's impossible to reload and save money..
'Cause it said so on the other thread, and obviously that feller is way smarter than us boys.
Let's see...I reloaded 100 rounds of 45 LC at $4.10 per 50. Factory rounds at the local dealer run $24-$26 per 50. If'n I can cipher this up, I'll figger out how much money I wasted......while I'm workin' it out, me and Uncle Jed, Ellie Mae, Jethro and Granny will head out to the cement pond and go fishin', or maybe fetch up a possum..... |

Because my wallet couldn't keep up with the voracious appetite of my Browning Gold Hunter 20 ga. at the clays range!
Also it is relaxing and it keeps me from getting myself into trouble. DOC

So after 73 votes (a damn fine sample if I do say so myself!) on a biased poll (I freely admit I was grinding an axe), we end up with:
47 reload to save money 26 reload for other reasons The prosecution rests. JT as usual, IMHO, FWIW, YMMV, and all that.... |

Simple. Our FedGov makes everyone have a permit to buy factory loaded ammo. It's recorded and then will probably be cross referenced with your registered long arms to see if everything you've got is registered. Zero checks or permits, so far, on reloading components. Plus it is considerably cheaper.
