Yeah or Nay: M57 TT Tokarev Pistol - 7.62x25

Any real qualms with this firearm other than I can't find magazines online and it's used/surplus and costs $200?

For range gun.

I say go for it, you should have no problems sending it down the road at that price if you get tired of it. They naturally point a little low for me when I hold them but are fun to shoot.

Nothing wrong with the Tok but I would be more tempted with a Star BM for $180. But either way, it's all good.

I love my 7.62x25 CZ52 and Zastava M57A (slide mounted safety with firing pin block). Hard hitting, flat shooting, rugged, reliable Comm Bloc sidearms.

The safety looks more usable than most that you see on milsurp Tokarevs.

Ditto on rather having the Star BM.

Or go with the $20 more TT-33 withe one less magazine, but more magazines available? I'm guessing these TT-33 are in better shape? Any opinion?

Either way on the M57 vs TT-33, where can you find replacement recoil springs and etc?

I say get one while they're cheap if you are thinking about it. I love mine, have M57 Tt33 of all kinds and now a Norinco 213. The are all steel well made pistols. The TT33 mags are cheaper and easier to find though. Safeties on all of them are an after thought and I wouldn't trust them, I've removed about half of them on the ones I own.
