H&R Question

Just bought a Buffalo Target (38-55) rifle, and was wondering if anyone knows where I might find out when it was made, by S/N.
Thanks BarnOwl

H and R serial numbers went....

1940 serial number started with A
in 1964 they began with AA through AZ in 1983
In 84, they changed over to BA, BB, BC and then in 87, they stopped using an easily repeatable sequence.

You can call their customer service, give them the number and they will tell you when it was made.

The .38-55 Target was introduced in 1998 and discontinued in, I think, 2007.
