New K-Frame holster,,,
My friend has a nickel plated S&W Model 15,,,
It's a Treasury Department commemorative model. She has started shooting this gun lately,,, She asked me to make a range holster for her. I said okay,,, I made it yesterday,,, Here it is with my Model 67. I hope she likes it. Aarond

Nice holster, Aaron. I'm sure that she'll be happy with it.

I like that style holster, but I just wont carry any holster that doesn't cover the trigger guard.

Hello PawPaw & Kraigwy,,,
Thanks for the compliment PawPaw,,,

There are a lot of people feel the same way. I designed the pattern from a picture I have of a Tom Threepersons Holster,,, Apparently it was popular from the mid 1920's through the WW-II years. I got this quote from Wikipedia: Quote:
But for range wear I think it's quite the stylish rig. At the range as well as at a barbecue,,, Style counts. At least at my range it does,,, On Sunday afternoons in the summer,,, People bring their BBQ-grills and have cookouts,,, They do a lot of shooting and always wear their fanciest rigs. Well not everyone does this,,, But enough people do to make it fun. Aarond

BBQ holster
Great looking holster Aarond. It is definetly a BBQ rig that would be worn at the get-togethers I hang out at. Will the holster you made for the Ruger match up with the straps that come on the remake .45 holster you patterned it off of?

That looks very much like one that Tom Servo has for his 3" K-frames (albeit it seems like yours is for a 4").
I know his is high-end. Yours appears to be equally good. Nice work. |

I appreciate the compliments.

I wanted to see if she liked the style first,,, Then I have to measure her hips,,, Something women don't like. But yes, a matching belt and cartridge slide are in the future. Aarond
