Remington 1863 new model

Hello everyone
I’m new from the blog and pleased to be in.

I’m making a research on a gun wich I recently got from an armory shop. The revolver has been sold to me as original Remington 1863 new model.

The gun look in perfect conditions and I had few doubts before buying it.. but still was looking amazing and was on a good price so I decide to go for it.

As you can see from the picture the revolver has the Remington engravings but they are not in the same position as the ones I see online. On the top of the barrel is written e. Remington and sons - Ilion - New York in one line and on the cylinder is written 44 cal 1863 new model Remington s patent.

Can you give me a help identifying this gun?

Can't help much without detailed up-close pictures, but....

1) The gun look in perfect conditions

**Never heard of Cylinder text engravings...

I hope it's authentic, but I have my doubts too.

I believe the original Remington NMA had gain twist rifling. Does the rifling in the barrel start out straight and increase in twist down the barrel toward the muzzle? If not it's not authentic. Some shooters model replicas do have gain twist rifling as well, so gain twist can't prove it's authentic but it can prove it isn't authentic.
