Speer 38 Spl shot capsules

I bought some Speer shot capsules for 38 special. They say the load data is in the #14 manual. My manual is older so it doesn't have the data. I hate to buy a new book just for that one load. Was wondering if anyone has loaded these, and what powder and charge you use for them. Also would these be crimped? I wouldn't think so, but just don't know. Thanks.

.38 Special/.357 Magnum Speer Shotshell capsules data:
630--9.0 grains---1001fps 6" barrel
Unique--5.5-------1111
231-----5.0-------996
Bullseye--4.5-------1021
700X-----4.5-------1060
HP38------4.5------1054
overall length 1.500" for .38 and .357
#9 shot used
Speer says give the case mouth a moderate roll crimp into the side of the capsule sleeve being careful not to break the plastic.

Thanks so much. I will eventually buy a new book, but I did want to get started on these. Interesting about the roll crimp. I don't know if my Lee dies will do a roll crimp. Have to check them.
Regards..

I used a charge of Bullseye (I think what was recommended) with #8 shot. I've been very impressed with its performance on snakes.

Yes, this is what you want. If you don't crimp them the capsules wiggle out of the others. Trust me, I know

Actually the shotshell load data has been in the Speer manuals for a long time. Look for it in your manual in the section following the last caliber loading section. They might say it is in #14 since that is the current manual.

It's been a few years; but the last few boxes I bought, Speer had the recommended data right on the side of the box.

The load data is not on the box anymore I guess they want you to buy the book. I will check my book again to see if I missed it. It definitely isn't in the section on 38 special.

Thanks to all who responded. All very helpful.

Yes, I found it. My manual is #12, so it isn't all that out of date. At least for what I am loading. Thanks for the directions, better than a GPS.

I prefer to use #11 or #12 shot for a denser pattern

I loaded 25 with #12 shot, and 25 with #7 shot. Thought I'd try them out and see how each works.
