If you had to go?What do you take?

I heard today on the radio that some Muslims are packing up and headed for Afghanistan to fight against the U.S. "terrorist bombing of the Afghanis.

If you were a merc type and there was sides lining up...from your existing stock what weapons would you take over there?

I'd take my Galil, 5.56 Nato so that I have easy access to ammo. CZ-75 for hi-capacity, again to have access to 9mm, plus pack a bunch of ammo. My 1911 as a back-up; or my H &K?

Of course, if you could draw from your wish list.....50 BMG mounted on a ATV, governor removed, ectoplasmic phaser with a 50 watt range, vulcan chain gun on the side car.

It's gonna be hard choosing between my AH-64D Apache and A-10 Warthog.

But seriously, Afghanistan is mountains and deserts. That sounds like sniper country. This is what I would take (in .338 Lapua Magnum, of course):

For CBQ, I'll just take Osama's AKSU

Quote:
existing stock
That only leaves me a Bushmaster Dissipator (I'm gonna have to get a light profile barrel with an A2 flash suppressor for this trip, I hope the Afghans don't have an issue with the whole preban/postban thing)

And my SIG P226 with 3 15 round magazines (Afghans don't have a high capacity magazine ban, do they?).

my Glock 19 w/4 to 8 hicaps
my camillus fighting knife (looks like Kbar)
plenty of cleaning stuff for m4
NEF Handi rifle in 308 with synthetic stock and a good 3x9 scope for when I need to reachout on my own (Afganistan has a lot of open country) the NEF is small and light weight but can reach out further than 5.56, and it can be taken apart for storage.

What I'd take

Fatman and Littleboy, and whatever other nukes I could acquire.

M16 rechambered to 7.62 NATO with an underbarrel grenade launcher and a rugged scope. The Accuracy International in .338 looked awfully nice too. And for a sidearm, an HK MK23 loaded up with some .45 +P ammunition. Maybe some level III A body armor too.

If I had to go, I'd probably end up taking whatever Uncle Sam
issued me (I'm still active duty).

If I had my choice.....I'd like 1)a short 12-gauge for close in; 2) I'd
also LIKE to take (always!) a .308/7.62 battle rifle, but realistically, an AK would be a better choice; 3) lots and lots of
bullets and grenades and water; and 4) and honestly (don't
laugh) my S&W 10mm for whenever I couldn't get to my shotgun
or rifle.

If you're talking about sniping, I'd choose the .50 BMG (ma deuce)
mounted on the back of an ATV with the best scope and night-
vision gear I could get, and as MUCH .50 ammo as I could pack
in the back....

H&K G3, USP Tactical, 2 200 round battle packs, 100 rounds of .45ACP,
BP58 rig, six pre-loaded mags for the rifle, three for the handgun.

Sniper

If I was going over I would take my gullie suit, a glock 18 with pro-load jhp's, and a suppressor with some subsonic loads, my combat smachet (I would get it coated in blackT first), a HK Psg-1 sniper rifle with a navy trigger group, a suppressor for it, about 10 pounds of C-4, a Leica laser rangefinder, the best night vision scope available, a Leupold mk4 10power scope, a good GPS unit, a good spotter armed to the teeth, and a lot of luck.

of course it would be easier to have a super duper nuclear laser gun

Mahakorin

Hi Mahakorin,
Still awaiting orders, hunh?
Maybe you should go into biotech stuff.

Meanwhile, whiile you are waiting, maybe you and your platoon can think about ways to flush Bin Bad Boy out of those caves, besides the conventional weapons.....maybe a gas that can give him huge really itchy hives all over his body.

Maybe that can give him the royal heaves from both orifices...then you would have to use gas masks just for the smell.

Some of the guys think you should pack him in a piggy suit then bring him back.

Anybody else like to share some other ideas of what to do with our friend, Bin Laden?
