actual bullet diameter of 7.5 french?
the title says it all. I just picked up a MAS36 and I'm looking to reload for it. wikipedia(I know, first mistake) lists the bullet diameter as 7.8MM or .31 inches but at the same time it lists 7.5 swiss as 7.7 or .306 which has me confused because most 7.62s are 308-311 and 7.7 jap is listed as 7.89mm or 311 so my brain is about to explode and all I want to know is what bullets do I need to buy for a 7.5x54 french rifle?

alright thanks guys I guess I'll be loading 308 for it... not quite as easy as 310 just because I have a buttload of 310 soft points laying around but still no worries finding components. just out of curiosity what is the average bullet weight and maximum recommended?

I loaded 308 R-P cor loc. As long as the case neck is not pinched, and you can check that by seeing if a 308 bullet slides into the case neck of a fired case, you won't have pressure problems. But, start your loads low and work your way up.
