Friends -

A local dealer has a couple High Standard .22 handguns, used, for sale at attractive prices.

However, I know that from 1984-1993 the High Standard name was owned by Mitchell Arms, and the High Standard pistols manufactured during that period are consided to be of lower quality than the pistols produced by the original company, or the current incarnation in Texas.

Do any of you folks know how to date these handguns? I'd hate to get stuck with a lemon. I don't know too much about these except that I used one years ago and liked it quite a bit. If anyone has any tips on where to look for dates or certain markings, I'd deeply appreciate it.

Ken, when Mitchel took over manufacture in September of '84 the last serial number range from High Standard was at SH34000.
