River Valley Arms???

I spoke to a guy that wants to sell a double barrel shotgun, it is dated 1914 and is a River Valley Arms. Is that a Stevens???
Any idea what they're worth?

It could be Stevens, Iver Johnson, Meriden Firearms or any of several other makers of guns who would put any name you wanted on a gun if you bought enough of them. Such names are generally referred to as "proprietary house brands." My best guess would probably be Meriden Firearms who used to make a lot of guns for Sears.

I wouldn't pay more than a hundred bucks for it if it's in decent shape.

I can't match it up to any other maker, including Stevens.

I'm more inclined to think it may be a Crescent, but without pics it's hard to pin down.

In any case, it's not a Parker in disguise and worth a couple hundred at best.
