I'd like to know if any country adopted the AR-180 as their main battle rifle. I know some PDs in this country used it but aside from that I'd like to know if it gained any international military following.

Do you know if Armalite published a procedure to battlesight zero the 180? What I'm looking one similar to the AR-15.

Thanx for your help...jimg

Someone may give the details but I think the AR-18 (the selective fire version) was used by some small African countries and the AR-180 was supposedly a favorite of the IRA. I believe the main reason it never caught on was that with the US and the USSR flooding the world with free AK-47s and M16s, there was little reason for any small country to actually buy rifles. All they had to do was threaten to go communist/capitalist and rifles (sometimes literally) rained from the sky.

FWIW, I consider the AR-18 a better rifle than the AR-15. Its drawbacks are failure to keep the return springs captive in takedown and a weak folding stock.
