Darned if I didn't lose two of them

Started out with 17 in one trap and lost 2 during all the confusion when the shooting started. I managed to give away 3 more before the cleaning and skinning started.

The actual score was 1 probable, 1 clear escape and 15 confirmed......was a real Laurel and Hardy short with just pre dawn conditions, me and my Marlin 39 running out of ammo after six shots ( it holds 18), Stony joining in with a Hi Power, one trying to get through the wire and I bonked him on the nose with the Marlin. Five shots through 38 special 2" and finally a reloaded Marlin brought the fun to an end with the morning light now providing a sight picture.
As for the escapee, a small pig who squeezed through the 4"x4" wire at a point where it is not doubled and while I was reloading the trusty Marlin the "probable" went through the same hole and into thick woods to the sound of multiple shots from the Hi Power and squeezing of a pig.
Then the work began, cleaning up the carnage, popping off the hams and blackstrap and posting a text to the coyotes and buzzards that breakfast was on the table.
What a fun morning!

Great job on the hogs. Corral traps are the way to go.
