If you are looking to minimize felt recoil for bad wrists, find something fullsize with a steel frame. CZ, Star, etc. The steel frame eats up the recoil, especially if the gun seems "oversized" for 9mm. Even the Star BM feels a lot softer than, say, a S&W 39-2 or 915, guns that are larger than the BM. That's because the BM has a solid steel frame and weighs 34 oz empty. It's a smaller size gun, but quite heavy and massive feeling, and the recoil and slide action is extremely pleasant. That's the physics tradeoff you have to make for light recoil; more mass in the gun. |

It soaks recoil due to its design, and it was a GREAT design, too bad they shut down shortly after it came out. Multiple yummy things about it other than the ability to soak recoil, has a decocker & pin cover safety, and a VERY light slide, well-sprung. Early, but tough polymer. Comes in 9mm & .40S&W
