629-1 Cylinder + Frame

I've got a 629-1. The cylinder does not go into the frame smoothly. It kind of clunks into place, like something is out of alignment. The cylinder on my model 19 and my Python both go back into their frames smoothly with a click instead of a "clunk". Is there something wrong with this gun or is it nothing to worry about. If there is a problem, would S&W fix it under warranty? I am the original owner but haven't shot it in years. I honestly can't remember if it was always like this or not.

You'd have to talk to S&W about that. Only they can make that decision.

I'm sure they won't be much help over the phone, because they have no way of diagnosing the problem, sight unseen.
For that reason, the best option is to cut to the chase, and send it in.
They'll send you an estimate if there will be charges.
