M16a1 nfa upgrades
I'm in the market for an m16 I found a transferable a1 and was wondering exactly what all I can legally change buttstock upper receiver barrel possibly trigger etc because what I want out of is a full auto pdw that's legal to own.

If its a registered receiver machine gun, you can change everything: Barrel, stock, upper receiver, full-auto parts - everything. No need to register it as anything else or file any other forms. It's this reason alone why M16's and DIAS's sell for far more than other .223 machineguns. You can configure them anyway you want, so long as you use the registered lower receiver.

FWIW, the barrel length minimum of 16" does not apply to machineguns.
