New to reloading
I am new to reloading. My Dad gave me an RCBS RS-2. I have read several manuals and I am wanting to start reloading 9mm luger. I have taken off the small C clip off of the ram, but can not get the shell holder out. I do not have a manual for this press. I have used WD-40 pliers, screwdrivers and punches. I really do not want to mess up the ram. Upon inspection this is the only shellholder with a hole for the c-clip to fit in. Is this part of the press? I have checked to ensure no primers stuck in the opening. Need help.

Without seeing what you're looking at, I don't think that's the shell holder. The clip is what holds the shell holder in place.
If you get a shell holder, you'll see that you can slip it into place as needed. Post pics, though, and it will be easier to see what it is you're looking at. --Wag--

First, go go here:
http://www.rcbs.com/downloads/instru...R_3_Manual.pdf This is the instruction manual for your press. Please put the circle clip back in the ram. It's there to hold the shellholder in place. You will need to lube the press and make sure everything moves easily. Wipe off any excess lube when your done. Gun oil is prefered. You can use WD-40. This is my RCBS JR after an overhaul: |
