Holster advice please

Trying to help one of my friends from the greatest generation. He mentioned it in passing.Evidently old shoulders don't like regular holsters Perfect opportunity for me to give a well deserved gift for years of mentorship
Weapon is S&W 5906. Leather cross draw for right handed person. He also mentioned wanting a forward cant when bolstered.I am just spinning wheels trying to find something that I know nothing about. Thanks folks

Just clarifying you want a leather cross draw with forward cant, or that’s what he has now? The 5906 fully loaded is a very heavy pistol. Not easy to offset that weight.

My recommendation is a Milt Sparks 55-BN. I would go with the B for a cross draw. It will cant the muzzle forward enough for a good clean draw. There are other good holster makers in the business but none are "better" than Milt Sparks IMHO.

Kramer leather holsters...horsehide...is my recommendation. He makes a crossdraw model for your buddies gun..with a cant.

They are durable and very well made.

I'm gonna stick with the 55BN aka Askin's Avenger style of holster. Most good leather holsters makers have a version in their catalog. Sparks, Rosen, Kramer, Privatieer, and Nelson come to mind.

For IWB leather I like the Summer Special II types. Same suspects.

I'm also fond of Vedder LightTuck Kydex holsters for IWB.
