I fell in love today. Twice.

In my gun shop of choice today, I was chatting with the guy who runs it.

I was looking down the rows of longarms.

Spotted one that caught my eye, followed by another.

The first was a lovely CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62x39 and the other a Savage Scout in .308.

Lovely!

I like bolt actions with a box mag, I like compact rifles and I like both calibres.
I handled the Scout and was able to look through its long eye relief scope. Surprisingly, the scope was very useable when I’d thought it wouldn’t be.

Owners of these: I envy you.
