Mini 14 muzzle brakes?

So are there any good pin on muzzle brakes for the 581 series mini?

They are hard to find, because the variety of barrel diameters. I tried a few that said they fit the 581, but they didn’t.
If I could go back in time, I should have had the muzzle threaded.

No. Pin-0n brakes are loose on the barrel, so they have a large open chamber with no restriction in order to avoid bullet strikes, Threaded brakes are the way to go, they maintain alignment with the bore and are a better solution to your problem.

But hey, if you just want tacticool looks, do whatever floats your boat.

The one I used for hunting pigs and coyotes at night, I would use in the prone position most often. The muzzle blast from the mini would kick up lots of dust and other light debris from the ground. I had put a brake on it that had no bottom ports, and it significantly cut down on that. It also tamed the muzzle flash somewhat too.

Since then I’ve removed it, don’t hunt anymore really.
I have a 24” AR that needs no brake. But as far as AR carbines go, I like linear brakes just for the perceived noise reduction for the shooter. The rest I just have something to put on the threads like a birdcage.

I would love to have the barrel threaded. Is there enough barrel in front of the sight? Some weight up front can help with accuracy.
