Ruger sp101 22lr

Hi I have a taurus tracker 990 22lr and am not happy with it (ejection problems). I like having a 22 for the cheap range trips and i love revolvers. So basically i want to sell my taurus and use the money for an sp101 22lr. So my question is how many of you guys have experience with the sp101 22? Good, bad???

I have an older 6 shot model that I like a lot. They're pretty heavy for a rimfire revolver, being built on a small .357 frame.

It is a good revolver made like other Ruger revolvers. The trigger is not great, but if it is like other Ruger triggers, it should improve with use. I suggest you handle one, look it over, and make up your mind. I have never seen one in a gunshop yet and they have been "out" for a while now.

I would like to own one, but I have number of DA 22 revolvers already and my next 22 purchase will likely be a S&W M63, since I already have a M17 and M18. I have also never seen a 3" M63 in a store.

I have an 8shot. Fun little gun. Again, trigger not that great but after a brick or 2 it will smooth up, however it is still STIFF.

Not quite as accurate as my Trailside, but that is a different class of gun.

I do enjoy the SP101 as it eats any 22 ammo, the quiet ones and those that just have the primer are pretty fun to shoot.

I have a Ruger 22 LR and overall I like it. Yes it does have a heavy double action trigger. It will get better with use. If you want a 22 revolver with a good double action trigger then get a S&W 17 or 18.

As posted above, the SP-101 in .22 is very heavy - which is most likely a plus for range/target use, if not a minus for a Trail Gun.

If I wanted a smoother action & best accuracy, though, I'd hunt around for ANY new or used S&W or Colt .22RF DA revolver.

They're definitely worth the dollar difference.

In my experience, though, most Taurus sellers have a problem - finding a buyer
