P238 recoil spring updated?

I own an early Sig P238 and am told that Sig has updated the new ones to a flat spring as opposed to the round spring the early ones shipped with.

Those who have a newer one....can you confirm that? Thanks

Yep, it's a flat spring now. At least that's what it was about a year and a half ago. I called up Sig and they sent me one at no charge, and it seemed to make a difference…love my P238.

Sig P238 Recoil Spring

Times must be changing. I called this date and spoke to a representative as it related to the flat spring. They now want to do a package of 3 flat springs, etc. for the price of $19.95.

Yeah, I can understand them not giving them away any more, the new spring has been out for over a year. They were replacing the round wire spring when people were having issues. That is now history (?)..time to pony up $20!!

Interesting....I think as so many times, it depends on the CS person you get on the phone. I ask to be upgraded to the flat spring and he said...sure thing.

Good for you! I got mine for free, but that was in 2011.
