Everyone would like to see a Taurus AR 15!! http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...us-t4sa-ar-15/

Taurus says they put over 300,000 rounds through these guns during development. Barrel life is well in excess of 10,000 rounds…A round count that the rifle seen above is apparently creeping up on (7,500+) without ever having received cleaning or lubrication.

The T4SA “Meets requirements of MIL–DTL–71186A with AMENDMENT 3 Dated 20 July 2012 (US Military Detail Specification)”. Full specs can be downloaded in PDF form by clicking here.

MSRP is $1,199 for all versions.

LINK to truth about gun page covering shot show. I GOT NO SPAM.

Lots of SA bashing going on here--I bought an 45 XDm when they first came out around $400 and it was an award-winning gun--very deservedly so IMO--the oldest handgun I have that I was too reluctant to sell for the next bathing beauty. If I do my part, always on target and handles anything I feed it. Tough gun, too.

Have you read the recent news about SA, stag? Might want to visit The Truth About Guns website. A major backlash is just starting against SA and RRA...

As is the case with other manufacturers new to selling ARs, the Saint’s target market is buyers who are not ‘into’ ARs, for whom this will be their first and only AR, where the rifles will be used exclusively, and rarely, on the range – people who like the idea of owning an AR, as opposed to actually using it.

The Saint’s features and design meet that goal; it’s not intended for AR enthusiasts who build their own rifles and own several ARs.

Now, the above doesn’t mean AR enthusiasts wouldn’t be interested in owning the rifle and adding the Saint to their voluminous collections; nor does it mean that the Saint is a bad rifle – it’s likely a solid, well-made, reliable, and accurate AR.

SA has done well with the Saint – it’s the ideal rifle for the casual AR owner.

The "Saint" is a contender on my upcoming AR-15 purchase. Right now, I'm narrowing the selection down to various mid-length gas system guns (which can change up to the actual purchase day):

Springfield-Armory Saint. I need to decide if that fixed front sight post is going to bother me.
http://www.springfield-armory.com/saint-series/

S&W "Mid" length, which currently is coming with Magpul furniture, and also has that fixed front sight.

Savage MSR 15 "Recon", and
http://savagearms.com/firearms/model/MSR15Recon

Colt's Combat Unit
http://www.colt.com/Catalog/Rifles/C...t-Unit-Carbine

I don't have an AR right now and I'm not sure if I'll even put many rounds (thinking less than 10K) through it once I get it.

Without some degree of marketing, I wouldn't even know any of these brands had mid-length 16" AR rifles.

This may affect my to-buy-list.

I suggest you also look at the Aero Precision OEM models with the midlength gas system.

I believe it to be as good a rifle as the ones you have listed at more than likely a lower price.

These come without a butt stock and handguard so you can add the furniture of your choice.

http://www.brownells.com/firearms/ri...38-174289.aspx

It's interesting that that Colt is called a carbine when it has a midlength gas system.

Thanks, L-2. My first handgun purchase was a SA. This is pretty disappointing. Feel sorry for the employees.

I would still pick the SA Saint.

I fondled a saint recently, and with the current market prices they should really have put more than a mediocre milspec trigger, imo, if they want my money at their price point.

Don't bother with any SAI products. There are better rifles for the same money and you don't have to support a company that tries to undercut our inherent 2A rights for their monetary gain.

Read through the links and I'm appalled. Now granted, there may be another side to the story, but it smells like that other side is full of kickbacks and $20 handshakes. Certainly doesn't look good and I will most certainly not be buying anything SA or RRA.

$1200 for a Taurus AR? That's going to be a HARD pass.

That $$$ will buy you a quality rifle from BCM or DD.

The way that Saint logo was carved into the mag well was a complete turn-off for me.

The logo is kind of attractive. Of course not the logo of Simon Templar The Saint. No halo.

I don't mind the logo. I'm just not going to pay extra for it.

A personal quirk, regarding the logo on the magwell. The huge 'GP100' rollmark on the Ruger revolver kept me from buying one; I even blacked out the M&P logo on my Sport 2.

This is why:

Accu-Tite receiver, it’s designed for tight, rattle-free operation
Bravo PKMT two-piece handguard covers aluminum heat shields but offers a super-slim profile. KeyMod attachment points
dry lubricant coating inside the bolt carrier group and receiver extension tube
SAINT™ is optics-ready out of the box.
Springfield Armory® low profile flip-up dual aperture rear sight with ½ minute of angle windage adjustment capability. Up front, the A2-style gas block and front sight features a standard post adjustable for elevation.

6lb 11oz...that is pretty light!

$799 of so....
Even after removing the marketing there is a lot of spec there. I cannot build my own better for what I can buy a Saint for.....if I can, I'm saving under $100.
