press problem/bullet seating depth

After many years of reloading for only handguns I have recently started loadinhg rifle cartridges and have what I think is a problem with my older Lee
Turret press. I am trying to get consistent bullet seating depths and with .010 to .012 vertical play in the Lee turret press it is making it near impossible. I guess the only answer is a single stage press. Any suggestions?
Thanks
