Form approval times w/panic

Has anyone noticed a slowdown in the Form 1/3/4 times from the ATF with all this panic buying going on?

I'm wondering if people have been submitting more forms and buying up all the NFA stuff at a faster rate thinking it won't be available anymore.

Reason I ask is... the last three I had ran 5 months (to the day), then a couple days under six months for the other two. Had a fourth come in today that took about 6.5 months. Maybe my good luck ran out, or approvers are getting slammed. Mind you, it was submitted in November- pre "Sandy Hook" so the panic hadn't begun.

You're just lucky you live somewhere that will allow such goodies. My last ones took right at 6 months...

We are seeing about 6.5 months for Form 4's and about 6 weeks for Form 3's.

Got one today that was four-days-shy of a full 7 months.

Just in case anyone has been wondering about theirs.

What examiners?

It seemed to me that the examiner I always had when they went by dealer's initials was faster than the one I have now that they go by state.

They're just shy of 7 months in my neck of the woods. The NFA examiners are outside the usual flow of things, so I doubt they're really affected by the Great Panic of 2013.

It's 6 1/2 to 7 months here too. I also don't think it will be affected by the recent rush. I also don't think the long wait time is soley due to the examiners' workload. Off course it's a factor, but if it were truly a wait based only on workload, wouldn't it vary a lot more? But it's been 6 - 7 months for a long time now, and that seems way too steady for a wait that should fluctuate more if it was truly based only on the BATFE's backlog.
