Winchester 94 Buttstock help
Hey Everybody,
I have a Winchester Model 94 (30-30) and need some help. I love to shoot the gun, but it kicks pretty hard, and the metal buttstock plate is not super forgiving. I bought a slip-on weenie pad, but the curved buttstock has a tendency to slide sideways in the pad and proves to be difficult. I was wondering if anyone else has found a way to fit a piece of rubber inside the pad, or has seen pad with a curved recess to accomadate rifles like this. I've looked, but haven't seen any. Thanks again.

By "curved," do you mean a crescent type buttplate? If that's the case, I would replace that one with a flat buttplate replacement from eBay or some such, and either use your slip on pad, or have a nice thick recoil pad installed on the spare buttstock.

If it's a curved plate it goes against your upper arm not your shoulder. If it's a flat plate pull it into your shoulder tight. A 30-30 doesn't have much kick. If you hold it loosely the kick is amplified.
