mossberg 500 feeding problems
Looks like the elevator is not lifting shells high enough sometimes. Any ideas besides bending elevator?

Well, its pretty simple how it works. the only thing i can think of is the elevator is somehow out of shape or worn, but you would have to shoot it ALOT to wear it out.

You shouldn't have to, as long as you pull the pump handle all the way back, it should cycle.

It's unlikely that your problem is caused by the elevator being bent. A good clean and lube should be your first fix. |

Ok seriously, how in the world is a dirty gun not going to lift the shell? I suppose if someone pulled a prank and you had a rock behind the bolt then that would cause the problem...

Its funny that someone would attempt a repair on a gun that has not been cleaned. Of course thats the first thing done.
I pulled the elevator out put it in a vise and gave it a few taps with a hammer, works like a champ. Thanks for replys |
