Where to find custom grips for .38 S&W police regulation?

Does anyone know where to buy custom grips for a .38 police reg I frame?

.

Welcome to TFL !

Tombstone ( http://www.tombstonegrips.com ) lists I-Frame grips - but if you google "S&W I-Frame Grips" & then click on "Images for I-frame grips", you will see several dozen examples & sources.

Note that regular Hand Ejector I frame grips won't be right for the Regulation Police because the RP has a step in the backstrap. The wood filler grips were made to fit that step, but I don't know if anyone is making copies of the correct grips.

Doesn't the I frame have the same gripframe as a J frame?

The standard I frame is shorter than the J frame; the J frame grips will fit the standard I frame, and the locator pins are in the same place, but the J frame round butt grip will have to be cut down to fit the I frame.

But note my previous response about the Regulation Police grip.
