Working up a load for a modern 12 ga

I have a 12ga H&R Huntsman (the H&R Inc, Not H&R LLC)

How can I find out how to load it?

It's a break action single shot, with removable breech plug.

On a muzzleloading shotgun most people use the same measure for shot and the powder.

On the 12ga that I used to shoot I used 70 grains for a ligher load and 90 for a hot load.

Just use the same measure for your shot.

You can vary spread of your shot pattern by the thickness of your over shot wad. A thin wad will make it shoot a tighter more full choke type load.

A thick wad over the shot will make the pattern spread more.

Use FF blackpowder not Pryodex.

You can experiment with your loads and wads untill you find one that does well.
