Got the trigger adjusted on this today also. This Accutrigger breaks at 1.75 pounds with the spring backed out as far as it goes.

Question... why a muzzle brake for a 6.5?

I've got a Savage 10Tac, it's an excellent rifle right out of the box. It must have the newer AccuStock... it's quite rigid and shoots very well. Took me a while to warm up to the trigger, it felt too much like a Glop trigger, which I hate. Wish mine came in FDE or DT, too... but nothing a little spray paint won't fix.

I was gonna put the brakes on it so I could spot my own shots at longer distances. I did not realize that this rifle would end up being as heavy as it is. Although I may still put a brake on it

Thought that's what spotter scopes were for...
They (muzzle brake) do make it nice for that though.
Had one put on a Savage 110 in 06'. Could watch the bullet hit with it.

Absolutely love this Varmint Accutrigger. After shooting 150 rounds through it. It lightened up a wee bit. It's breaking clean at 1.5 pounds

This rifle is real easy to shoot. And with the adjustable length of pull and comb height. It's very comfortable.

While not the Accutrigger, I set my old, $250 Stevens 200 to the same 1.5 Lb trigger pull...
Note $250 rifle, not, wait... How much did you pay for that rifle??? lol

Yeah, I agree, while I can set my stock triggers pretty well, they are definitely not an Accutrigger.

Now to put that Sightron SIII on that baby.....

Oh I know about the Stevens trigger. I had several of those rifles.

I never got one below 2.5 pounds that would pass a drop test though.

Oh yeah, I paid $650 for this rifle. Could have saved a little online, but I would rather give the money to my local guy.

I modify a lot of Savage 10s. McGowen is one of the very best savage replacement barrels out there. Be careful with lowering the savage trigger below 2#. I install BasiX or Timmney triggers on many. The 6.5 Creed really doesn't need a break. A 11 crown on a 26in. 1/7in. or 8in. twist barrel for a 6.5mm is ideal. The 7.5 to 7 in. twist for a 6mm creed shooting the 105gr bullet. With hand-loads these will shoot 1/4 moa @100 on floated and bedded stocks. The Vortex Viper 6.5x20x50 BDC can be had for about $400 and is a very good scope for the money. This is just a few things that, in my experience, work.

The Varmint/Tactical Accutrigger according to Savage is adjustable from 1.5-3 pounds. Also it passes the drop test multiple times just fine.

This rifle shoots pretty good. If I could get my act together it would shoot even better.

Shoulda kept my wife's old Rossi R243.
She was shooting close to that with the 105gr Hornady Match over RL26 with a 1:10 barrel 24".
Factory everything but the bipod.
Bought used for $150.
No stability issues out to 600 yards, despite what Hornady said.
