Classified
host a craigslist format classifieds site that allows guns. Open to public, FTF transactions, sort by state. Include things besides guns to draw traffic. Please.
Ok, ok I will just go on hoping... |

Hope is a wonderful thing.
But what would a "craigslist" style classified system offer that we don't already have? You can search by state, the forum is open to the public, FTF transactions are allowed. I don't see the benefit.

How can one easily search by state? Some people don't post what state they are in or use different abbreviations (i.e. CA, Calif., California).
I know this is a pain, but maybe forum sub-sections by state, or even region?

lots just say they will ship and do not include state. By the time you get the FFL fees and shipping very few of the listed guns are much of a deal. And I would like to see a site that was available to more than just those registered on TFL

none of those sites are set up like classifieds for easy FTF trades like craigslist is. The idea is to cut out the shipping and FFL fees within a context that allows for a broad user base and local listings.
Almost all the trades on here I can get from Olde English cheaper or for little more when shiipping and FFL are considered. Not having to worry about a scam or misunderstanding is worth small difference when there is one. |

I really think this would work, if Icould a programmer to help me I would be doing it myself.

As a programmer yes its possible.
To try to pass the FFL shipping etc. is an ATF accident waiting to happen. Because undoubtedly someone will try to purchase something from another state surpassing the ATF interstate requirements. Dont get me wrong this can happen on an auction site too but dont try to completely cut out the FFL dealer stuff. Some sites do enable a buy it now feature that you dont have to wait for the auction to end. |
