Anyone with a Review of Ruger AR-556 MPR?
How does it shoot compare to the garden variety AR-556 or the piston variant, SR-556?

Dunno, but bamaboy just bought one, $477 plus tax, came away just a tad over $500. Came with one P-mag, a metal front sight tool, and a empty chamber flag. We intend to shoot the snot out of it.

I have a Ruger SR 556 Varmint with 20" stainless steel bull barrel 1:8 twist, and Ruger SR 762 AR-10
The 556 varmint is gas piston driven, has 3.5 lb 2 stage factory trigger, shoots 1 MOA@ 600 Yards with 75 gr hornady BTHP match and 77 gr smk's. 1/4 moa at 100 yards with the same loads. Also has adjustable gas block, chrome BCG, and modular rail handguard. MSRP when they came out was $2k but I found one for $900 last year. I'm not familiar with the AR-556 model as far as perfomance, but the SR series is top notch and a premium piston AR rifle. The SR 762 has similar features except the barrel is 16", chrome lined and fluted heavy barrel. And the trigger was a crappy mil-spec I replaced with a $200 Timney. |

I already have an SR-556 CLA and was thinking about getting an AR-556 MPR, that’s why I was asking how the latter shot compared to the former.

I have the AR556 I upgraded the front sight with a tritum TruGlo. I have purchased a few extra Pmags for it. It is reliable. The only malfunction it has ever had was caused by wife short stroking the trigger. It feeds and fires just fine. Accuracy is better than I can milk it for.
