I need some round nose .45's
Hey, guys, . . . I have a little leather shop in my living room and reloading room, . . . and I just cranked out a couple of "cowboy" rigs.
I want to take them to some local gun shows, . . . but I also want to have cartridges in the belt loops. If anyone on here makes a really clean, round nose, lead bullet similar to those used 125 or so years ago, . . . I'd love to hear from you, . . . as I would like to buy some from you for my holsters. Thanks, may God bless, Dwight

You could make up some dummies with nickel plated cases, and buy some Berry's copper-plated bullets, then rub them with Cool-Amp silver plating powder to get the Lone Ranger effect. They'd look good, though you'll be out $40 for a small container of the powder and you'll probably need to varnish them to keep their appearance. Might be worth it.
For original looking bullets, though, you probably want brass cases and swaged lead bullets rather than cast ones. Like the Hornady round nose 230 grain bullet for .45's, 5th down, here. The swaged lead will have more original dark appearance and no flashing line from a mold.

Call the owner of Penn Bullets he will help you. Just pick out the round you like and ask for samples. The charge will be low.
Tell him what you’re using them for. If you just making dummy rounds ask that they not be sized or lubed. They look better. Give them a call. http://www.pennbullets.com/45/45-caliber.html |
