Which one

Long story short I am selling a new leupold XV-3L 4.5-14x56mm scope that I pickup for a steal at a local gun shop. My question is I got a few trade offers and I want to know what community would pick and why.

The First offer is a like new Remington 700LR Bull barrel chambered in 3006.
The Second offer is a new Ruger M77 ii stainless steel bull barrel Chambered in 22-250 with a wood stock.
The Third offer is a new tikka Chambered in 300 win mag

I could use all calibers. and the first 2 offers have rings and mounts with them.

depends on what you will use them for

the rem700 is out of the question IMO, don't care for 'em

the tikka will probably shoot better but ruger are solid

tikkas are great, if they had been the same calibre it would be a easy choice

Of the 3 rifles you were offered, I would pick the Tikka. They are good shooters right out of the box. If that one does not appeal to you, the Remington LR would be a great rifle. Although I do like Rugers, they are not very popular in this part of the country, perhaps they are in your area.

Just FWIW, the scope would have sold brand new for about $600. The rifles you were offered sell for about $900 each, so whoever you are dealing with really wants the scope, IMO.

If you are at all recoil shy, the Tikka in 300 Win Mag will kick like a mule.

None of those would interest me. Remington's are out and 30-06 wouldn't be my choice for a heavy bull barreled rifle even if I wanted a Remington.

I do like Ruger and Tikka. If the Ruger were in 300 WM with a standard barrel and the Tikka were in 22-250 both would be good choices. But 300 WM is too much gun for a lightweight Tikka and a 22-250 needs to be in a more accurate platform. Rugers are rugged, reliable, and dependable. But have never been the best choice where pure accuracy is required. Plenty good enough for any big game hunting though.

I'd sell the scope or keep looking, but that is me. The Tikka and Ruger are both good rifles, I just don't care for the chamberings in those particular rifles.

If it were ME, I would:

Sell the scope for cash.

As stated above a heavy barrel is not needed on a 30-06 these days. I would like to see this offering in a Ruger No. 1.

Ruger 77 in 22-250 is a non-starter. The caliber for the most part has one purpose, varmints, small critters. I just do not equate Ruger with that type of precision.

Tikka in .300 Win. Mag hurts.

Again, that is based on what MY needs and wants are.

But, I would be interested in seeing what you wind up with in your enviable dilemma.

Enviable dilemma indeed! I have a lot of experience with Ruger bolt-action rifles. Of the three candidates for trade, the Ruger would be my, albeit biased, choice.
