Marlin 336SS quality vs other 336 models?

I am considering purchasing a Marlin 336SS. I have had concerns about Marlin's quality control since Remington buyout. However I have heard that the stainless 336 are of better quality. Any feedback?

.

Regardless of the metal type/finish, I would never consider ordering a Remlin 336 sight unseen, or buying one online, w/o a hand's-on personal examination for any possible defects - like:

Sights out of plumb with the bore C/L

Lack of rifling in the bbl

Ill-fitted magazine tube

Loose forend

Ill-fitted buttstock @ the rear tangs.

Life's too short (for me, now) to have to deal with warranty issues.

I have an old 336 marlin, great gun. But I wanted a stainless so I have a Rossi on the way, there seems to be a lot of positive feedback on them and the price is more reasonable
