Best shell holder?

Which shell holder would you recommend and have had best experiences with?
heres some Im looking at, any opinions? Ive read some reviews that say the stitching come out on some of these but others say They're good

It's easier to put on and take off the gun and the attachment straps can be used to as an improvised sling post.
I have a side saddle on one of my shotguns, but I don't really like it. It seems to spoil the balance of the gun. In the future I'll probably just use buttcuffs.

Shells tend to be heavy and can upset the balance when shooting a fine shotgun. I use a belt if I'm going out for a while for birds and always carry a few 00 rounds and slugs JIC.

Decades ago I picked up some suspenders with 12 ga shotgun loops, best buy ever.

Then there's the vest. Bulk shells in the pockets and most have loops for your 'in trouble' rounds.

The carrier that attaches to the butt can be uncomfortable and can even injure you if you shoot from the weak shoulder. You might find yourself having to shoot from around cover with your weak arm, for example. The plastic carriers that are attached to the AR/M4 style collapsable stocks are even worse and are guaranteed to bust your face.

You might try keeping a couple of these near the gun and slipping them on your belt if needed.

I got an elastic shell holder for my 870 out of a $2.00 bargin bin at a pawn
shop.It's an Uncle Mikes,holds five,works great,love it.

Found the same thing except for rifle rounds in another bargin bin,for FREE.

Don't EVER ignore the bargin bin....

I mostly like keeping spare shells in the magazine. I have to say that is the best place for spare shells.

And for the rest of you smart arses: Yes, there is one in the chamber.

I carry my shells in a belt pouch. I don't favor adding stuff to the sides of a gun, and I don't understood the shell holder concept. Is it to provide additional ammo as is in the mag or an alternate load selection? If it's just for additional ammo, and you anticipate being in a situation where you'll need to quickly reload, why not convert to a speed loader?

I've tried a couple different buttstock carriers - one of which was my own design. Unfortunately, it was way prettier than it was useful.

Ultimately, my scattergun wears no ammo externally. My reloads reside in a binocular bag that I throw over my shoulder if the need should arise. I've seen people use gas mask cases and grenadier bags for the same purpose. Pretty much anything that you can wear across your chest that will put the shells at your hip will work really well. I find that's the absolute fastest way for me to get to my reloads. Your mileage may vary.
