Marco .31 cal percusion revolver

I'm hoping you guys can help me to get some info on a pistol. I haven't had any luck so far.

We have a Marco .31 cal revolver (Italian made) that is beautifuly etched on the cylinder. The etching is a horse and buggy with the lead horse raring with a man trying to handle him. there is also a lady looking out of the carriage window.

I've seen similar guns on the web, but nothing realy close to this one. None that I've seen have any etchings like this one.

Photos would really help to idenify the model.

Armi San Marco was an Italian company based in Gardone which specialised in reproductions of black powder guns. I don't know their early history but they were certainly in operation by the early 1960s. In 2000 the company was acquired by American Western Arms, Inc. but I understand is now out of business. Previously their products were imported into the US by E.M.F., located in Santa Ana, CA.

Aparently Armi San Marco had quality control problems, and I understand there have been safety issue with some of their products.

sorry, photos will be very hard to do. This gun was in my grandfathers house. It burned this morning. we found the gun in the rubble. the wood is burned off and we are trying to clean it up. will try to get photos if possible. I would have to say that this one is one of their early works. The S.N. is 730, so it would have to be pretty old.

even in new condition ( new in the box ) value would be no more than 200$, Your revolver is a reproduction, perhaps not even a reproduction of an actual gun but of an era, a type of gun that might.been made. Burned as it is, maybe, 50 dollars. Sorry about that.

It may be ASM's repro of the Colt 1849 Pocket, which had a cylinder engraving of a stagecoach being held up.

Deer Creek Products still carries parts for the ASM guns. I bought an ASM clone of the Wells Fargo 31 on auction and it needed parts, it's a fine shooter now. Their phone # is765-525-6181, they don't have a website, but they are very reasonably priced. Check GunBroker for baby dragoon and see if the gun resembles one at auction.
