Free Bore and Barnes bullets.

I have a Newer Thompson Encore in 280 Rem. I had a Remington model 700 BDL in 280 Rem. So, I'm developing loads again. However, I had some TTSX 120 grainers loaded from when I had my 700 so, I remeasured everything and shot them at .020 FB.....terrible. Seated them deeper @ .045 FB and wow what a difference. I know Barnes recommends their bullets to be seated deeper than jacketed bullets and it appears as though it's true. I may try to move the bullet .005 deeper each test group to see if the group tightens or spreads. If this group I shot tonight is as good as it gets I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with it. BTW, Barnes recommends .030-.070 FB for their bullets.
